Using the SX Fidelity Amplifier as a proof of concept, the Sound Genome Theory is now poised to revolutionize much of the sound industry. In its current form, the SoundXciter engine is capable of improving sound managed on a PC. And yet, the theory and algorithms developed are applicable in many different product sectors since any sound damaged by some form of encoding is ripe for improvement. Currently, the engine is being improved and the genotypes adjusted for implementation in the following areas:
- Personal music devices
- Car radios
- Cellular phones
- PDAs
- CD re-mastering
Another use of the Sound Genome Theory is in audio compression. Due to the complex nature of the genotypes and their ability to reduce significant sound data into an algorithmic structure, compressing sound into a genome model offers massive compression opportunities.
